TWO IMPORTANTS OF ICT IN INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION

Team Effectiveness Among different cultures and better decision making.

The favorable influence of team heterogeneity on team performance is intimately linked to team intercultural communication, but it is also attributable to the capacity for decision-making dispersion. Multiple points of view, increasing availability of information and skills, and constructive conflict all help to improve decision-making. This is made easier by cross-functional design. Different cultures get accustomed to incorporating various or diverse points of view into the decision-making process at the early stages of development.

Promote peace and harmony by reducing intercultural conflicts.

Constant contact via the use of technology is altering people's perceptions of themselves and how they convey their thoughts and express themselves, allowing them to gain attention, be heard, and not feel alone in their viewpoint. Learning about other cultures using technology can help reduce cross-cultural conflicts by allowing people to learn about cultures they encounter. Training programs, general reading, chatting to individuals from various cultures, and learning from prior experiences are all ways to get information about other people's cultures. Technology advancements allow for a wide range of social applications. Some have an impact on culture and knowledge. However, the advantages of ict allow for the implementation of new cultural practices. For example, the internet provides users with access to user-generated content and tools.. “Individuals tend to use more dominating styles during conflict than collectivists” (Neuliep, 2009)

 Conclusion

Globalization and technological advancements have put intercultural communication at the center of many and varied discussions throughout the world, with some emphasizing on interaction as a critical component of international peace and security among different cultures.
